To the editor:

I would like to congratulate Seamus Powell and commend The Daily Mail on the outstanding article about Seamus in the Saturday/Sunday, July 20-21 issue.

Seamus has worked so hard over the course of his lifetime to become a force in the professional bike racing world, and it was so nice to see him in the spotlight. He has proven that he can and will accomplish anything that he sets his mind to. What an incredible young man, with an incredible drive. It makes me so proud to see how far he has gone on his bicycle.

From the day of his first ever mountain bike race, Seamus was hooked. I am honored to have had the opportunity to coach and sponsor him from these very early days until he became a pro rider.

Seamus’ family are all avid cyclists and I was fortunate to have been able to get to know and sponsor each of them — brother Ian, sister Sarah and parents Sue and Jon.

I wish Seamus much continued success in his cycling career.
