HUDSON — Police arrested four men Wednesday night that were caught in the middle of an alleged robbery attempt.
The Hudson Police Department responded to what they believed was a physical domestic incident in a vehicle in the area of Tanners Lane at approximately 10:20 p.m. Upon the patrols’ arrival, they discovered they had just interrupted a robbery in progress, according to police.
Officers report the four men allegedly forced a 28-year-old Hudson man into a vehicle where they pistol whipped him, punched him and threatened him with a knife.
“They had conspired to meet him on Allen Street and then drove down to Tanners Lane,” said Hudson Police spokesman Lt. Lynne Finn.
“They tried to drive away when police arrived but they did not get far.”
Officers arrested the following men in connection with the crime:
Samir Alygad, 24, of Freehold, was arrested for first-degree robbery, second-degree assault and fourth-degree conspiracy.
Christopher Albergo, 19, of Climax, was arrested for first-degree robbery, second-degree assault, fourth-degree conspiracy and second-degree menacing.
Ralph Surrano, 19, of Hannacroix, was arrested for first-degree robbery and fourth-degree conspiracy.
Christopher Juzapavicus, 20, of Climax, was arrested for first-degree robbery and fourth-degree conspiracy.
At least one of the arrested suspects knew the victim and was attempting to steal money from him, Finn said. All four subjects were arraigned in Hudson City Court and remanded to the Columbia County jail with no bail. They are scheduled to return to Hudson City Court on Tuesday.
The victim was treated at Columbia Memorial Hospital with lacerations to the face.
