COLUMBIA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE
- David R. Miller, 47, of Hudson, was charged with petty larceny Jan. 31 by Columbia County Deputy Sheriff William Dunspaugh. The Sheriff’s Office reported said that Miller stole more than $70 worth of merchandise from ShopRite in Greenport. He was released with an appearance ticket and was to have appeared in Greenport Town Court Feb. 4.
- A 17-year-old male from Berkshire Farms in Canaan was charged Feb. 3 with second-degree criminal mischief by Columbia County Deputy Sheriff Joshua Oakes. Police said the teen caused $3,500 in damages to property owned by the Berkshire Farm Center and Services for Youth on Feb. 2. Arraigned by Canaan Town Justice Lewis Hatch, he was remanded to Columbia County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond. He was scheduled to return to town court Feb. 8.
- Following a domestic incident Feb. 4, Richard W. Williams, 39, of Claverack, was charged with criminal obstruction of breathing and possession of a controlled substance outside original container. He was arraigned in the Claverack Town Court by Town Justice Michael Brandon, released on his own recognizance and was due to appear in court Feb. 12.
