The Nuciforo/Spock response to my Jan. 23 letter to the Register-Star should be seen for what it is: The standard administrator ploy of attempting to hide behind the boiler plate.
I have no axe to grind with anyone; nor is it my job to defend the accused. I daresay he is capable of doing that very well himself. I merely regret that the students in the Chatham High School Band are denied the benefit of his musical expertise for the remainder of this academic year. I am concerned, too, that we, the taxpayers, will bear the cost of this most recent controversy, which, if history is any indication, will drag on for too long. The sole purpose of my earlier letter was to raise the awareness of Chatham taxpayers to the developing situation. Those that know me are well aware that I am a staunch defender of student rights, and to infer that I have tried to vilify the complainant is inaccurate, since I had no knowledge of that person's identity, or of the nature of the complaint.
