Leeann Peters takes a shot at waking up a sleeping (Hudson) community in the December 30th local Register-Star paper with little to no understanding of the history causing the sleep apnea. I can appreciate the attempt, as I have made similar attempts recently. Leeann appears to be educated and well versed in the global governmental legislation aimed at reversing the failing trends in urban school systems. I am not sure how Leeann found Hudson from the West Coast; maybe throwing darts at a map on some down time in college?
Leeann seems to think Hudson’s thriving antique businesses should play a role in improving HCSD’s pathetic results with the at-risk youth currently roaming their halls. Leeann’s lack of firsthand knowledge has caused her to miss out on a very important piece of information. The antique shop owners would be more motivated to build a strong and durable fence around a dog park than a vibrant, healthy and safe school around youth.
