COLUMBIA COUNTY — In the decade from 2000 to 2010, Columbia County saw a 10.1 percent increase in jobs and a 53.1 percent jump in the number of business establishments. These and other facts from the statistics-rich website YourEconomy.org, were a topic of discussion at Monday’s meeting of the Columbia County Economic Development Committee.

County Commissioner of Economic Development and Planning Ken Flood brought the figures to the meeting, and highlighted the “tremendous growth in self-employed.”
