LIVINGSTON — State Police Captain Scott Brown could have gone to Sweden to pursue a professional career in ice hockey. Instead, he chose to serve and protect the citizens of his own country. After about 32 years with the New York State Police, he has announced his retirement from the force. For the last five years, he has overseen more than 80 other troopers as the Zone 1 Captain and Commander for Troop K, including the barracks in Livingston, Kinderhook, New Lebanon, Pine Plains and Rhinebeck.
He also served as captain of other troops in the state, as well as a previous stint with Troop K, as Zone Commander of the New York State Thruway in Albany and as a SWAT Team Commander.
