Committee votes to add police officer to budget

The Hudson Police Department lost its 26th officer in the 2014 budgeting process, but the Common Council Police Committee means to make good on it. The committee passed a resolution Monday calling for the funds to be restored to the HPD.

Police Commissioner Gary Graziano told the committee that he had canvassed a list of possible candidates, and was having a dialog with one the department was interested in hiring, “when it became known we didn’t have a position. It was embarrassing, to say the least.”
