Union official: Charter change ‘union busting’

HUDSON — Hudson Mayor William Hallenbeck faced tough questions Monday at City Hall from union leaders representing the city’s police department about a charter change they say is retaliation for a labor dispute. Bill LeBeau, organizing director for Council 82 of the New York State Law Enforcement Officers Union, stood with the Hudson City Police Officers Union, Local 3979, as a member of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees.

“You’re stripping away at the structure,” LeBeau asserted.
