After 23 years on Hudson Street in the village of Kinderhook, family run Blackwood & Brouwer Booksellers Ltd. will be closing its doors permanently on June 30, according to owner Rondi Brower. The clearance sale begins June 1.

“It saddens us greatly to announce that the store will close,” Brower said. “Even with strong customer loyalty and support, a variety of circumstances, both personal and professional, have made us realize that closing our doors is the only viable alternative.”

That's why when my favorite author releases a new book-- I take my time, and simply go to my favorite local bookstore, I may not get want I want as fast as lightning but for me it wasn't just all about that. Although, I must admit I buy most of my college textbooks online still let's find a way to support our local stores.
