GHENT — Outdoor concerts and festivals, TCI, Price Chopper and the United Nations were the main topics covered at a joint workshop of the Ghent Town, Planning and Zoning boards last week.

First on the agenda was a proposed change in the zoning ordinance regarding outdoor concerts, exhibits and festivals. Under the draft proposal, Town Attorney Ted Guterman said they would be allowed subject to review of the Planning Board. Organizers would have to notify agencies such as police, fire and the Department of Health, take adequate site measures for fire trucks, traffic, sanitation and the like and have adequate insurance.
