Brian Branigan, until lately the owner/operator of Tortillaville, now wants to operate a classic sailboat offering chartered voyages on the Hudson. As a licensed U.S. Coast Guard captain, he seems to have the credentials.
But he needs a place to dock, and there’s the rub. He asked to share the city dock that has been used by the cruise boat Spirit of Hudson for the past few years, and informed Mayor William Hallenbeck and Common Council President Don Moore he was willing to pay $30 a foot per season. Since his craft is 31 feet long, that comes out to $930.
