KINDERHOOK — Opting out of state testing is on the rise at the Ichabod Crane Elementary and Middle schools. The number of ICC students who have opted out rose from 135 last week to 202 this week, according to District Superintendent George Zini.

Students opted out by way of parent refusal letters. Both week’s figures leave the district’s number of participating test-takers short of the state-required 95 percent student participation rate.
