HUDSON Mayor signs new taxi cab ordinance

Hudson Mayor William Hallenbeck signed legislation Wednesday that gives direction to the city’s cab drivers. However, cab drivers decided to sit out the mayor’s public hearing, as did virtually everyone else.

Save for the mayor’s aide, Eugene Shetsky, nobody weighed in on the legislation that, for the first time in almost three years, brings sweeping changes to the business. It was a scene that repeated itself from last month when members of the Common Council convened a special meeting to adopt it.
