LIVINGSTON — State Supreme Court Judge Richard Mott is expected to begin Friday deliberating the case concerning the siting of a 190-foot telecommunications tower on Blue Hill in Livingston.

On March 31, Mott ruled that the Olana Partnership and Scenic Hudson could continue their legal challenge to the Livingston Planning Board’s approval of a 190-foot telecommunications facility that falls within the viewshed of the Olana State Historic Site.

Codesguy, you are absolutely right. This is just a crusade with people with MONEY to get their way and take out a local farming family that has been here in Columbia County for a long time.
Next thing you know, Olana partnership will be telling people who own homes within their "view shed" what color they can paint their house.

Maybe Mr. Cooper should assist the county with his expertise and perhaps offer another location which would be more beneficial than Blue Hill. Maybe Mr. Cooper and those opposed to this plan should join local Fire and EMS services and experience the communications issues which are supposed to be corrected with this tower. If there is another location for a tower that would correct this issue than it should be explored. What is of course true is the people who oppose this tower due to the view from Olana are the same people who complain about poor cell service or delays in emergency service delivery due to communication issues.

You want to see something really noticeable? Go up to Olana and look in
a southerly direction. If those radio towers don't knock you off your feet, nothing will. Eger's towers are nothing compared to the radio towers. Also, when the leaves are on the trees, Eger's are virtually invisible. Not so the radio towers.
Olana Partnership and Scenic Hudson ought to get a life and get out of ours.

Total nonsense. maybe they should relocate a couple of houses and the RVW bridge too, we wouldn't want that to ruin the view shed.
