Six months after it was originally expected to open, the Hudson City School District will begin its new alternative education program in early February, alongside the Catskill Central School District on Warren Street.

The Columbia-Greene Partnership Academy, a collaboration between the Hudson and Catskill school districts and the Berkshire Union Free School District, was approved in December after legal setbacks. The districts had originally planned to open the facility in September 2013, with a larger level of service, but the New York State Education Department questioned the academy’s legal status, including whether it required a voter referendum to operate as intended.
