Citing a decision by the New York State Rifle and Pistol Association Board of Directors to no longer be directly involved in anymore large rallies, NYSRPA president Tom King said in a prepared statement: “NYSRPA will utilize its efforts and assets by funding its lawsuit to overturn the NY SAFE Act; registering voters; educating non-voters on the importance of their vote and getting them to the polls; participating in small localized forums around the state where the message can be better heard; supporting local groups to have their voices heard and local grass-root, boots-on-the-ground efforts.”

“Now I’m not saying we’re not going to support the rallies, I’m saying that we are not going to participate,” King said.
