For the past several years, Martin Silver, owner of the Dairy Queen in Ghent, has been consistently working to make his restaurant a better place for patrons and his employees. Two years ago, he added a drive-thru window to make it more convenient for customers and last year, he renovated the whole exterior of the building. In February, he finished renovating the entire interior of the dining room. All new tables and chairs, cushioned booths, tile flooring and soft cream colors make the new dining room a more enjoyable place to sit down and have a meal or just hang out with friends and a Blizzard. “We really just wanted to look great for the 21st century and the community,” said Silver. Dairy Queen’s spring hours are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days a week.
