A Child’s Christmas to be celebrated
Clermont State Historic Site will celebrate the joy of the season by sharing holiday traditions of the Livingston family who made Clermont their home for seven generations. Experience Christmas morning through the eyes of Honoria and Janet Livingston, the last children to reside at Clermont, beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday and Sunday.
A Child’s Christmas, designed for children ages 3 to 6 on Saturday and 7 to 11 on Sunday, gives families a chance to share in a nostalgic Christmas celebration.
Tickets are $12 for children and $2 per family member accompanying a child. Pre-paid reservations are required.
Families will begin a tour of the mansion, beautifully transformed for the holidays, in stocking feet. A costumed storyteller will teach children about 19th and early 20th century Christmas traditions in the picturesque Livingston library and read aloud “’Twas the Night Before Christmas.”
Children will play Santa Says and sing carols before heading to the kitchen for baked goodies, hot chocolate and presents.
