Ruth E. Schlegel

Ruth E. Schlegel 91 a life time resident of Spencertown,N.Y. died Sunday at Great Barrington Rehabilitation and Nursing Home. Mrs. Schlegel born October 11,1918 in Spencertown is the daughter of the late George and Mary (Shreader) Barden. She graduated from Chatham High School. Mrs. Schlegel with her husband the late Henry (Hank) Schlegel 1979 owned and operated the Spencertown General Store for many years. She was a long time member of the St Peter’s Presbyterian Church Spencertown where she taught Sunday school for over 40 years and a member of the Spencertown Tower Club. Ruth is survived by son Peter Schlegel and wife Eileen of Spencertown, Daughter Nancy (Schlegel) Scofield of Acworth, Ga. Grandchildren James Schlegel, Paige and Benjamin Scofield, Katelyn and Joseph Hunter. Mrs. Schlegel is survived also by Sister Marjorie Boyles and brother Paul Barden both of Philmont. Besides her husband Hank she was predeceased by a daughter Cindy Jane Schlegel 1956. Family’s request that in Ruth’s memory, donations be made to St Peter’s Presbyterian Church P.O.
