Hudson police blotter

  • Ernest Lee Butler , 48, of Hudson was arrested by Hudson Police Officer Dean Rowe Nov. 4 and charged with second-degree aggravated harassment for allegedly making harassing phone calls to a 44-year-old woman.
  • Moises Ortiz, 35, of Hudson was arrested by HPD Officer Daniel Scali Nov. 5 on a bench warrant charging him with failure to appear in court to face a third-degree assault charge.
  • Rahsean D Bowman , 22, of Hudson was arrested by HPD Officer Rodney Waithe Nov. 6 and charged with third-degree assault for allegedly slamming a woman’s left arm against the dashboard of his vehicle several times.
  • Jean-nane- taye Rowell, 21, of Hudson was arrested by HPD Officer Jason Finn Nov. 7 and charged with second-degree menacing and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon  for allegedly threatening to cut someone with a black-handled knife she possessed.
  • Michael R. Owens and Darien J. Moore, both 18 and of Hudson, were charged with unlawful possession of marijuana Nov. 6 by HPD officer Jason Finn after a traffic stop on State Street in Hudson.
  • Clayton Paul Cowan, 29, of Hudson was arrested by HPD Officer David Miller and charged with second-degree criminal contempt for allegedly violating an active order of protection issued by Family Court  by not staying away from protected person.
  • Danielle Nistico, 41, of Hudson was charged with first-offense DWI and DWAI—Drugs Nov. 9 by HPD Officer William Wrigley for an alleged July 30 hit and run accident and was charged with aggravated unauthorized use of a motor vehicle at that time. Following further investigation she was charged with DWI and possession of cocaine, according to HPD.
  • Jennifer E. Palumbo, 22, of Hudson was charged with second-degree criminal contempt and second-degree aggravated harassment by HPD Officer Brent Rowe Nov. 12 for allegedly violating a court order by contacting  a victim by phone and harassing them.
  • Clarence W. Risch Jr., 39, of Greenport was charged with second-degree attempted criminal trespass by HPD Officer David Miller Nov. 12 for allegedly trying to enter an apartment without permission.
  • HPD investigated a car versus  bicycle accident at 7:23 p.m. Nov. 12 on North 7th and State streets. HPD received a call from a taxi cab driver reporting that someone in a vehicle just hit a guy on a bike at the above location. Officer David Miller and Sgt. Corey Skype responded to the scene. According to the police, a blue 2007 Mazda operated by Christopher M. Shaffer of Carmel was traveling south on North 7th Street and — after stopping at the stop sign — turned left. Shaffer told police he didn’t see the bicyclist in the intersection and hit him causing the rider to fall of his bicycle and damaging the bicycle. The rider of the bicycle,  identified as Samuel Alvaro Sac of Hudson, told police and the Greenport Rescue Squad that he was not injured and refused medical treatment. Shaffer was issued a traffic ticket for failure to yield right of way at stop sign.
