Cairo-Durham Youth Basketball Registration
Cairo-Durham will be holding registration of youth basketball today from 9 to 11 a.m.; Tuesday from 6:30 to 8 p.m.; and Nov. 23 from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
All sign-ups will be held in the high school lobby. C-D youth basketball is open to boys and girls in grades 2-8 attending Cairo-Durham Central School.
There is a registration cost of $20 for the first child, $15 for the second, with a $40 cap per family. The season will run December through March with Saturday morning games at the high school and middle school. Any questions can be directed to Beth Phillips at 966-4739.
Turkey Shoot
The Polish Sportsmen’s Club will host a turkey shoot on Sunday beginning at 9 a.m. For more information call 828-0375.
Coxsackie Handgun Safety Course
There will be a handgun safety course at the Coxsackie Sportsmen’s Club on Reservoir Road in West Coxsackie on Sunday at 9 a.m.
This course is required to apply for a pistol license in Greene County. It is suggested that students contact the Greene County Sheriff’s Office to obtain an application package prior to attending.

Morris Memorial Youth Basketball
The Morris Memorial Youth Basketball program is currently conducting registration for the 2009-10 season. The program is open to all youth in grades 1-8 that reside in the Chatham Central School district and surrounding townships. Volunteer coaches will lead skill-building drills and games. Scores will not be kept and all players will have equal playing time, regardless of skill. Games will be played on Saturdays (Divisions 2-4) and Sundays (Division 2) beginning Dec. 12. A players and coaches clinic will be held that day for Divisions 2-4. The basketball program ends Feb. 13 and 14.
The registration fee is $45 for the first player from each family and $30 for each additional player. Placement on a team will only be guaranteed to those youth who register online by Nov. 23. A $15 late fee will be added to registrations received after the Nov. 23 deadline. Scholarships are available by calling the Morris Memorial office at 392-4622. Hudson Turkey Trot
The 39th Annual Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot, sponsored by Hudson Lodge of Elks No. 787 and coordinated by the Hudson Department of Youth, will take place on Nov. 26 beginning at 9:45 a.m. on Harry Howard Avenue.
Participants in the Junior High, Senior High and Elementary School races must have the signature of a parent of guardian on their application.
Medals will be awarded to the first three finishers in each division, with fourth- through 10th-place finishers receiving ribbons.
Applications may be obtained at the Hudson Department of Youth office, Hudson Lodge of Elks No. 787 and at local schools. For further information call 828-0017.
There is a registration fee of $5 and one non-perishable food item for adults. Students are free.
