A representative from Attorney General Andrew Cuomo’s Office will speak to Stuyvesant residents about giving the public increased access to information on governmental decision-making processes at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Stuyvesant Town Hall on Route 26A.

Mark Hoops, senior consumer frauds representative from Cuomo’s Poughkeepsie Office, will give the presentation.

Project Sunlight, the first government transparency initiative of its kind in New York state, provides easy access to campaign finance, lobbying, agency contracts, member item, and legislative databases.

New Yorkers can go on the Project Sunlight Web site to see where their tax dollars are being spent and how their representatives are voting on key issues.

Cuomo recently unveiled Project Sunlight 2.0, a new and substantially updated version of the site.

Among the new features are information about local government and elected officials, an interactive map, the 2009-2010 state budget, and bill jackets from 2007.

This event is part of Cuomo’s broader statewide outreach efforts to inform the public about Project Sunlight and how it can be utilized.
