A Greenport man who allegedly stabbed someone twice in the back Friday is behind bars.
Duhamel Johnson,18, assaulted a 29-year-old Hudson man around 11 a.m. Friday near 233 State St. in the city according to the Hudson Police Department.
The victim was transported by the Greenport Rescue Squad to Columbia Memorial Hospital with two stab wounds to the upper torso.
“He’s currently in stable condition,” said HPD Lt. Richard Paolino.
HPD is investigating but no motive had been determined by press time.
Johnson turned himself in to HPD three hours after the incident.
He was arrested and has been charged with first-degree assault, a Class B felony, and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
He was being held pending arraignment in Hudson City Court Friday afternoon.
