Exactly what’s needed
Loretta Hoffmann
Taghkanic
Once again a member of Mrs.Young’s family has spoken out on her behalf. I think it’s wonderful how her family rallies around her at this time. On Tuesday, the good people of Taghkanic will decide who has the vision and skills to lead our town forward. I know this year’s election has caused quite a stir in Taghkanic and Columbia County, but in the end it’s a good thing that people care and speak openly about issues that potentially affect all of us.
Many references have been made to the fact that I haven’t lived here long enough; maybe that’s exactly what we need. Coming in with fresh eyes, it’s not hard to see what is and what is not working. The excuse of “This is how it’s always been done.” is why we find ourselves where we are today. Fresh ideas and innovative solutions are exactly what are needed if we are to move forward. Without progress and hope for our future, aren’t we destined to live in the past? Here’s another fact, Eric Tyree, the champion of the GOP ticket moved here the same year as my husband and I.
The Row B candidates and their supporters warn voters that if they are not elected, your taxes will go up. I’ve suggested that we can seek grants to help us fund our town’s needs without raising taxes. It’s true I don’t have a lot of experience applying for grants, but Audrey Koran the candidate I personally endorse for Town Clerk has experience both applying for and writing them. I believe in teamwork and building a unified town government where we work together and learn from each other’s experience.
I have seen the people of our town react to hardship and crisis. In Taghkanic when the going gets tough, the tough get going. Whoever is elected Town Supervisor will need the help and support of the entire community. Success can and will be achieved if we work together. I would like to thank the many residents who have shown me a huge outpouring of support. It has been a pleasure meeting you and I am thankful for having had the opportunity to run for Town Supervisor in this election. My husband Jim and I feel truly blessed to live and own a business in our nice little town.

Ms Hoffman's letter once again provides all hype and NO. SOLID. PLAN. More of the same old......
To those folks looking to keep the sanity, peace love and happiness may the force be with you, VOTE ROW B! "
