Good government begins at the local level. With Albany and Washington totally mismanaged and out of control, Stuyvesant continues with a competent and fiscally strong town government.
The Republic/Conservative/Independent team is what’s best for the town of Stuyvesant ... and a new addition to that team this November will be the election of Brian Chittenden for Town Council. Brian is an outstanding candidate. Brian operates a large family farm which requires good business decisions and strong fiscal management. His strength in these areas will enhance our efforts of keeping Stuyvesant a friendly farm community.
The current board has been understanding and responsive to all issues concerning the welfare of Stuyvesant residents and they continue to look at any and all options on every issue. Putting the people first is their objective. They also maintain a strong fiscal policy. After providing the maximum legal exemptions allowed by law, Stuyvesant continues with one of the lowest tax rates in Columbia County.
The Democratic candidates, in their Aug. 21 press release, stated they were inspired and encouraged with the elections of President Obama, Sen. Gillibrand and Congressman Murphy and believe this momentum for change will continue on the local level.
Wow, isn’t this the Washington administration that is putting America in its biggest debt ever? All of which trickles down to the local level with more taxes and fees.
When reviewing and analyzing all the facts, the election choices are clear. On Election Day, Nov. 3, please join me in voting for Valerie Bertram for supervisor, Ed Scott and Brian Chittenden for town council, Melissa Naegli for clerk/tax collector, Bernie Kowalski for highway superintendent and Carrie O’Hare and Joseph Bruno for judge (Republican, Conservative or Independent Line, row B, C or D).
