Girl struck by car, condition critical
HUDSON — On Oct. 10, shortly after 10 a.m., an 8-year-old girl was hit by a vehicle traveling eastbound on the 300 block of Columbia Street. The City of Hudson Police Department was at the scene at 10:12 a.m., where it was discerned that the girl, who had been on her bicycle, came from between two buildings, lost control and drove out into the path of the oncoming vehicle.
The 8-year-old girl was transported by the Greenport Rescue Squad and then by med-flight to Albany Medical Center, where she is currently listed in critical condition.
According to Lieutenant Lynne Finn of the Hudson Police Department, there are no charges pending against the operator of the vehicle, but the matter will continue to be investigated.
