Attempted abduction in Stockport

STOCKPORT — The New York State Police at Livingston, Troop K, are investigating a report of suspicious activity that occurred in the Town of Stockport.
At about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30. a 14-year-old male was walking on West Ghent Road when he was approached by an older white male with white hair in a dark green two-door pick-up truck with a six-foot bed and black fender, officials said.
The man allegedly asked the teen to come over to his vehicle, at which point the teen ran off to the safety of a nearby friend’s house.
Police said a similar incident was reported in Albany on Saturday, prompting the teen’s family to call police. Anyone with information on this or similar occurrences is asked to call the NYS Police at Livingston at 518-851-2001.
