Frank Tiano
Frank Tiano of Ghent formerly of Greenport, died Friday October 2, at Columbia Memorial Hospital. He was 86.
Born in E. Kingston, NY on January 18, 1923, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Carpino) Tiano.
Frank was a Veteran of WWII serving with the U.S. Army in Guam.
He worked in maintenance at the NYS Training School forgirls in Hudson and later at Brookwood Secure Center retiring in 1983. He was a member of the Church of St. Joseph (formerly Holy Family) in Stottville, and the former Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Hudson. He was an avid baseball player, golfer, bowler and played for several area leagues. Frank was devoted to St. Francis of Assisi and St. Anthony of Padua.
He is survived by his wife Catherine B. (DuPont) Tiano, 2 daughters: Cynthia T. and(Joseph) Bogardus of Valatie, Nancy T. and (Stephen) Leonard of Hudson, 2 brothers: Ralph Tiano of FL., and Anthony Tiano of Hudson, 3 sisters: Teresa Miller of Valatie, Mary Cullen of FL., and Margaret Risch of Greenport, Grandchildren: Paul, Matthew, Angel, Christe, Jesse and Nora. Great-grandchildren: Taylor, Jared, Kali, Sofie, Dean and Ruth as well as many-many neices and nephews. He was pre deceased by brothers and sisters: Charles, Louis and Thomas Tiano, Rose Graziano and Laura Ames, also nephews: Johnny Tiano and William Ames.
Calling hours will be on Sunday October 4th from (4-7)pm at Valenti and Richards Funeral Home 700 Town Hall Drive Hudson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Monday 11:00 am at the Church of St. Joseph in Stottville. Burial will follow at Cedar Park Cemetery. Memorials are requested to the Church of St. Joseph food pantry 2824 Atlantic Ave. Stottville, NY 12172
