Two different accidents in Greenport Friday sent three people to Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson.
The first occurred around 10 a.m. on Route 9 near Williams Lumber and Home Center, located at 3679 Route 9.
Roger W. Garcia Jr., 46, of Hudson pulled out in front of Kenneth S. Moro, 36, of Saugerties while trying to turn north onto Route 9, said the New York State Police, who investigated the accident.
Both men were transported to CMH with minor injuries.
Garcia was ticketed for failure to yield.
In the second accident of the day in Greenport a 20-year-old woman driving a silver Nissan apparently pulled out into the path of a Ford van while exiting from the west entrance of Columbia-Greene Community College around 4:09 p.m.
The Jaws of Life had to be used by the Greenport Fire Department to extricate the woman, due to her leg being trapped in the vehicle.
Life Net helicopter was put on standby, but not used.
County EMS Coordinator P.J. Keeler was also on scene.
The Greenport Rescue Squad transported the woman to CMH.
The State Police were on scene for the second accident, but the Greenport Police Department was the lead agency in the investigation.
The names of the drivers in the second accident were unavailable at press time.
