Mother and son held for robbery
A mother and her son were arrested Thursday in Kinderhook in connection with a robbery at the Hannaford’s Plaza on Route 9, said police.
Cody A. McGuire, 23, of Leeds, Greene County and his mother, Bonnie G. Rivenburg, 40, of Valatie, were arrested and charged with first-degree robbery for allegedly stealing an iPod from a third party.
State Police Investigator Adbul Weed of Livingston Troop K Bureau of Criminal Investigation said that McGuire threatened the victim, whose identity has not been released, with a pocket knife. The victim was assaulted about the face and suffered minor injuries, Weed said.
According to police, the robbery stemmed from an earlier incident in Greene County. The Greene County Sheriff’s Office is investigating that incident, police said.
McGuire and Rivenburg were arraigned in front of Town Justice Natalie Kolb and ordered held in the Columbia County Jail on $25,000 cash bail and $50,000 secure bond.
They are scheduled to reappear in that court on Oct. 27 at 6 p.m.
