Red Hook GOP picks pols
Following the town of Red Hook Republican caucus Aug. 19, the following candidates have been endorsed by the Town of Red Hook Republican Committee: Town Clerk – Sue McCann; Council Members – James Ross and Robert Latimer; Dutchess County Legislator – Benjamin Traudt.
GOP Committee Chairman Tim Ross said, “I am excited about the slate we have endorsed. Collectively, the years of experience and community service that these candidates share will truly help to move Red Hook forward.”
Dutchess County legislative candidate Benjamin Traudt will surely bring a much needed breath of fresh air to the county’s legislative chambers. With his many years of community service and his experience gained as a legislative aide in the New York State Assembly under Assemblyman Molinaro, Benjamin has the understanding that the partisan bickering taking place in Poughkeepsie must yield to the needs of Dutchess County ’s residents.”
Former Town Clerk Margaret Doty added, “Red Hook is fortunate that Councilman James Ross is a candidate again for Town Council. The wealth of experience that Jim brings to the board has allowed Red Hook to prosper and grow; he is an intricate part of Red Hook’s government. I am honored to have worked with him”
“Robert Latimer’s experience as a previous Town Councilman and his years of community service make him a very qualified candidate for a return to the Town Council.
“Having served as Red Hook’s Clerk for nearly three decades, I am impressed by the way in which my successor Sue McCann has approached her role as our Town Clerk. The Clerk’s office runs smoothly and Sue is a hands on clerk. I am excited to see Sue a candidate for re-election. Red Hook will be represented very well by these uniquely qualified candidates.”
