Robert Williams, 84, of Co. Route 25, Kinderhook, died Tuesday Sept. 22, 2009, at Albany Medical Center.
Born in Hudson, NY, July 10, 1925, he was the son of the late Edward and Edith (Carver) Williams.
Mr. Williams was a Tech 5 Sergeant and bugler during World War II in the U.S. Army. He owned a TV business in Rensselaer County and for many years worked at several local TV and Electronic stores in both Columbia and Rensselaer counties. He retired as a New York State Park Security Officer at Olana. He held a private pilots license, was a member and former Deacon and Trustee of the First Presbyterian Church in Valatie and was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Shirley (Kinnicutt) Williams, four children, Sherry Petrosky of Valatie, Deborah Hannett of Greenport, Robert A. Williams of Valatie and Brian R. Williams of Valatie, 8 grandchildren, Mark A. Smith, David M. Smith, Michael L. Hannett, Tricia Wilhelmsen, Jeffrey R. Hannett, Kristen Bordeaux, Christopher C. Williams and Lauren A. Williams, 5 great-grandchildren, Nicole A. Smith, Marissa A. Smith, Ryan J. Smith, Conner J. Hannett and Mikayla L. Hannett. And several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 12:00 noon from the First Presbyterian Church, Valatie. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Valatie. Friends may call Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the Raymond E. Bond Funeral Home, Inc., Valatie. For those who wish, contributions may be made to either the First Presbyterian Church, P. O.
