By Jamie Larson
A Hudson man was arrested Sunday for allegedly stealing $10,000 from the home of a 92-year-old Greenport woman while he worked caring for the woman’s disabled grandson, according to State Police.
According to Investigator Kelly Taylor, Bradlee J. Moore, 19, a certified nurse’s assistant, working for Angel Help Home Care in Germantown, has been charged with grand larceny in the third degree.
Moore allegedly stole the money from a hiding spot in the home where he had worked for two months while aiding the 31-year-old disabled man, Taylor said.
Police were informed of the robbery Sunday, and went to Moore’s Prospect Street residence later that day to investigate. Taylor said he and troopers Michael Clark and Carmine Martino, out of Livingston Troop K, found $8,000 of the stolen cash at Moore’s home.
Moore has no prior convictions on his record and now faces a class D felony charge, and could face a sentence of four to seven years in prison if convicted of the crime. Police were not at liberty to divulge all the details of the case as the investigation is ongoing and more arrests may still be forthcoming.
