The Kinderhook Republican Club held an informational forum on health care on Sept. 15, which attracted almost 100 members of the GOP Party locally.  The event, held at the Academy of Christian Leadership, provided an up to date review of the health insurance situation in New York and discussed how pending proposals in Washington would impact citizens. “We were really pleased with the turnout”, said organizers Laura Davidson and Donna Antal.  “We didn’t know how many people would attend and were thrilled that almost 100 fellow Republicans in Kinderhook turned out for the event”, said Davidson.

The event featured panelists Erin Nevins, owner and operator of her own independent insurance agency serving Columbia and Greene Counties; Chip Dunham, an RN and medic who works in the emergency of a large regional medical center in Western Massachusetts; and, Dr. William Cromie,  a retired pediatric surgeon and former CEO of Capital District Physician’s Health Plan (CDPHP).  Also on hand to provide perspective was local physician Dr. Elizabeth Howard a family practitioner in Valatie.  Former Assemblyman and gubernatorial candidate John Faso moderated the discussion.
