MY VIEW: The silent majority isn’t so silent anymore

“Dissent is the highest form of patriotism” or so said the bumper sticker on the back of the old Volvo….right next to the Bushitler one. But when dissent is expressed against those on the Left traditionally predisposed to it, it becomes a different matter entirely.

It’s interesting to see how Democrat politicians and the Community Organizer in Chief are reacting to this dissent. Their political world view does not allow them to believe that such large, passionate crowds could possibly be real people who have themselves organized against the politicians’ agenda. Instead, it must be those nefarious right-wing forces out there to derail hopey-change or so they’d prefer to believe.

What used to be called the “Silent Majority” has become alarmed at the rapid pace of government expansion into areas before thought off limits. Government takeovers of the auto industry, banking industry, mortgage industry, intrusions into the energy industry and so on, all with a record 1.8 trillion deficit this year alone to fund it all would alarm any rational person. All this in a mere eight months. And now they have their sights on something deeply personal to everyone. Health care.

Obama himself has said he is in favor of a single payer (a.k.a. government run) health care system. He said it to a union group. It is not taken out of context and the video is on YouTube. Look it up. This is what their bottom line true agenda is and people are on to them. Government option, insurance co-ops, so-called “triggers” if the insurance industry does not capitulate, etc…it’s all the same…a smoke screen…a Trojan horse for nationalized health care. Obama doesn’t think we can get there all at once and need to do it on the installment plan. Other left leaning politicians in a rare moment of candor have also admitted the same.

This incremental approach is a Saul Alinsky “Rules for Radicals” tactic. Say what you need to say to get your program in place, then expand it through the power of the state at whatever pace you can, sometimes faster, sometimes slower but do not retreat. What you see now is 10 steps forward at perhaps too fast of a pace. What you will see may very well be eight steps back packaged as compromise. Yet the net/net of all this is two steps forward for the Statist and their agenda. They need to get the proverbial camel’s nose under the tent in the form of a government insurance option. They know it. We need to stop them and begin to reverse it, putting in place common sense reforms such as being able to shop for your insurance across state lines, tort reform and moving insurance from the employer to the individual, empowering the consumer with more competition, choice and so on.

Once a government system is in place, instead of millions of people making individual decisions over their very lives and bodies, we will have subordinated the highest form of individual liberty- control over our very being- to the whims of Statist politicians and bureaucrats in Washington. This shift will fundamentally alter the relationship between the government and the people away from that of the Founder’s vision of individual liberty and freedom, subordinating it to the utopian vision of the collectivist state. The tentacles of this system could eventually reach into nearly every aspect of our lives. From the food we eat to the cars we drive, the energy we consume to the very lifestyles we choose, the government will be able to step in and regulate just about any activity in the name of cost containment or fairness.

This has long been the goal of the Statist and is key to understanding what motivates Marxist ideologues like Obama because when viewed in this context his actions make perfect sense. The key to defeating this agenda is to understand it for what it really is, not be afraid to call it what it really is and not be taken in by slick speeches and salesmanship. This is not fear-mongering, friends….this is the logical outcome of these policies. Obama himself said, “You want to know who I am, just look at the people I surround myself with”. Yup.

With Congress back from recess, the real arm twisting and backroom deal making is about to begin. And that is the time when public pressure will need to buck up the weak souls so that they understand that a vote for this system is a vote for what De Tocqueville called a “soft tyranny”. And those who support this must be marked for political defeat at the ballot box.

Look at what has been accomplished thus far. We, the people, have beaten back the collective power of the President, the Congress, the media, the union bosses, academics and the crony capitalists who seek to make a deal with the alligator in hopes of being eaten last. They are reeling but not yet defeated. Continue to stand up for yours and your children’s freedom. Remember the words of Ronald Reagan who said that we are always only one generation from losing it.

" Man what a bunch of name calling grandstanding.

Obama tries to help people and get the economy back on track (after the gop mismanaged it to the point of collapse) and they call him a Marxist ?

It is obvious that the far right does not have a clue what these words mean. Because of their ignorance how can you argue with them? "
