Gilbert Hein
Gilbert Hein, 55, of Clermont, NY, died Thursday, September 10, 2009 at the Community Hospice in Hudson, NY. A resident of Clermont for the last 23 years, he previously lived in Red Hook for 26 years.
He worked on the family farm in Red Hook and did various custom work as well as mowing, haying, and snowplowing.
Gilbert was a member of the Hudson Valley Old Time Engine Club in Hudson, NY.
Born July 6, 1954 in Poughkeepsie, he was the son of Dorothy I. (Alexander) Hein of Clermont, and the late Charles F. Hein. He attended Red Hook Schools.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his brother: Glen Hein of Clermont, two uncles: Thomas A. Alexander of Hyde Park, and Gene Daugherty of Irvington, NY. Several cousins also survive him.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, Sept. 19th, at St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Route 9, Red Hook. The Rev. Ryan T. Nace will officiate. There will be no calling hours.
Memorial donations may be made in Gilbert's memory to Columbia Memorial Hospital, 71 Prospect St, Hudson, NY 12534.
Arrangements are under the direction of Burnett & White Funeral Homes 7461 S. Broadway, Red Hook, N.Y.
