Police bust 3 on drug charges after executing search warrant
HUDSON—According to Chief Ellis C. Richardson and the Hudson Police Department, city officers executed a Columbia County Court issued search warrant at 452 Columbia Street, 1st floor at about 9 p.m. Thursday, arresting three persons.
Members of the Hudson Police Special Operations Unit, along with the Detective and Uniformed Patrol members executed the search warrant. Also assisting was New York State Parole Officers from the Northeast Bureau.
Police arrested: Cedrick Antonio Maurice Fulton, 38; Charee L. Race, 29; and Victor V. Downes, 27, all of 452 Columbia Street. According to police, a 7-year-old boy was present during the search.
According to Lieutenant Lynne M. Finn, police seized crack cocaine, a digital scale and packaging material suitable for the packaging of individual quantities of narcotic drugs, and an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency.
Fulton, Race and Downes are each being charged with: two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree, class B felonies; Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia, class A misdemeanor. Due to the child being in the residence at the time of the search warrant, all subjects are charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child, class A misdemeanor. All three are being held and await arraignment in Hudson City Court.
Fulton is on parole with New York State and a warrant has been lodged for violating conditions of parole, police said.
Also assisting during the investigation was the Columbia County District Attorney's Office and Greenport Rescue Squad.
