Columbia County Youth Bureau Tennis Lessons
The Columbia County Youth Bureau and United States Tennis Association Eastern Section will hold tennis lessons for youth, age 5 and up every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from Monday to July 24 at Crellin Park in Chatham. Lessons will be divided by ability: beginner, intermediate and advanced; and will run from 9 a.m. to noon.
Lessons will also be offered at Ichabod Crane Monday, Wednesday and Friday from July 27 to Aug. 14.
Fee is $30 and instructors are trained by USTA Instructors. Players will also have the opportunity to become junior members of the USTA if they wish.

Columbia County Golf Championship Tourney
The Columbia County Golf Championship is being held July 12-13 at Copake Country Club and Columbia Golf and Country Club, respectively.
There are three divisions: Men’s, Women’s and Senior Men’s (55 and over) and the tournament format is medal play, scratch, 36 holes, no cut.
On July 12 at Copake C.C. the first tee time is approximately 1 p.m.; on July 13 at Columbia G.C.C. the first tee time is approximately 9 a.m.
Entry fee is $25, plus non-members are required to pay the appropriate green fee.
Awards will be presented at the conclusion of play on July 13.
Contestants can shoot a practice round at Columbia G.C.C. at their own expense and prior arrangements must be made with Columbia G.C.C. pro Marc Levesque.

Chatham Panthers Basketball Camp
The Chatham Panthers will host a Summer Basketball Camp from July 13-17 at the high school from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
There is a $75 fee and anyone that is entering fourth grade up to ninth grade can participate.
Campers are required to bring basketball sneakers, a towel, shorts, T-shirts, a lunch and plenty of water and/or non-carbonated sports drinks.

Coxsackie Flag Football
Registration
There will be registration for Coxsackie Flag Football at the Coxsackie Village building on July 15 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Aug. 5 from 6 to 8 p.m. Registration is open for boy sand girls ages 5-14. The league is also looking for referees. For more information e-mail jazzsean@aol.com.
Catskill Soccer Club Registration
The Catskill Soccer Club is currently holding registration for fall soccer. Registrations will be accepted through July 15. The program is available to anyone from grades K-6 and registration forms are available at the Catskill Community Center or www.catskillsoccerclub.org/. Payment and forms can be mailed to PO Box 139 Catskill, NY 12414.
Morris Memorial Association Golf Tournament
The Morris Memorial Association’s annual golf tournament is scheduled for July 23 at Winding Brook Country Club in Valatie. The format will be a four-man scramble with a shotgun start at 10 a.m. The entry fee is $95 for a single player and $360 for a foursome. Fee includes golf, cart, lunch on the turn, beverages on the course, buffet dinner, awards and prizes. There will be hole-in-one prizes on each par 3, including a week’s stay at a townhouse in Hilton Head South Carolina donated by Metz Wood Harder Insurance. Prizes will be awarded for closest to the pin and longest drive. There will also be a putting contest and 50/50 raffle. Registration deadline is July 18. Philmont Fishing Derby
There will be a Philmont Fishing Derby on July 18 from 7 a.m. to noon at Summit Lake/Reservoir, Lake Shore Drive, Philmont. The derby is for children age 1-18 and over $1,000 in prizes will be available.
Kalicoontie Turkey Shoot
The Kalicoontie Rod & Gun Club in Livingston will hold a Turkey Shoot on July 19 at 10 a.m. to celebrate the club’s 75th year. 12- and 20-gauge shotguns will be used and prizes will be awarded.
