Terry Wagman
Medical secretary
CATSKILL — Terry Wagman, 88, of Catskill died June 22, 2009 at Columbia Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Manhattan on Nov. 28, 1920 to the parents of the late Max and Jenny Pasternak. She went to school for interior design and helped a number of friends later in life at home decoration. She was then a legal secretary before coming up to Catskill in 1951, eventually becoming a medical secretary to the late Dr. Joseph R. Cally for many years.
She was an active member of the Greene County Women’s League, the Adult Learning Institute at Columbia-Greene Community College, the Catskill Garden Club, a past president of the Margaret P. Lerner Chapter of Hadassah and a congregant of Temple Israel. She was also an avid golfer, bowler and bridge player.
She was predeceased by her husband Walter in 1991, her daughter Shayna (Joan Barbara) in 1996 and her son-in-law Steven Tucker in 2007. She was also predeceased by three brothers, Harry, Phillip and Ralph.
Her survivors include a son, James Wagman, an attorney in Catskill; her daughter-in-law, Joanne Wagman; three grandchildren, Zachary and Rachel Wagman and Melissa Tucker; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Friday, June 26, 2009 at Traver & McCurry Funeral Home at 11 a.m. The family will receive callers starting at 10 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Greene County Women’s League or the Margaret P. Lerner Chapter of Hadassah.
