Dorothy J. Schoonmaker
COXSACKIE — Dorothy J. Schoonmaker, 89, passed away peacefully in her home on June 1, 2009. Dorothy was the daughter of Frederick and Elizabeth (Young) Sager and was a lifelong resident of Coxsackie.
She was predeceased by her loving husband Albert in 1991; her daughter Barbara in 2000; and her son Mark in 2001. She was also predeceased by a brother, Robert Sager.
Surviving are her brother, Donald Sager of West Coxsackie; her granddaughter Tasara (Edward) Maxwell of Coxsackie; her granddaughter Shannon Skelly of Schenectady; her grandson Joel (Gricel) Schoonmaker of Santa Clarita, Calif.; and her great-granddaughter Sarah (Ryan) Blauvelt of Goshen. She is also survived by great-grandchildren Kasandra, Alexandra, Noah, Juliana and Elijah, and many other family members who loved her.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, June 3 at W.C. Brady’s Funeral Home from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be Wednesday evening at 7:30 p.m. with Rev. Retta Lykens, pastor of the Cairo United Methodist Church officiating. Private cremation will be at the Albany Rural Crematory in Menands.
