KINDERHOOK — The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office began investigating an apparent murder-suicide on Rabbit Lane in the town of Kinderhook Wednesday.

Two bodies with bullet wounds were found inside the residence.

According to Sheriff David Harrison Jr., deputies responded to the residence around 9 a.m. Wednesday for a health and welfare check.

“It was initiated by a call from a business associate of one of the deceased who did not show up for work,” he said.

An autopsy is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. today at Albany Medical Center.

No further information has been released as the investigation continues and pending notification of the families.
