Firefighters respond to incident at Bliss Towers
Shortly after 11 p.m. Friday the Hudson Fire Department was called to Bliss Towers in Hudson.
There, firefighters discovered heavy smoke on the second floor of the high-rise, it was reported. While the cause of the smoke may have begun as a food fire, its status was apparently upgraded to a working fire while crews acted to ventilate the smoke from the building.
Traffic was reportedly blocked at the intersection of Second and Columbia streets during the incident. Assistance from Greenport Rescue was requested.
