Sports Shorts IN COLLEGE ANNANDALE — The Bard College women’s basketball team beat Yeshiva University to open their 2008-09 Skyline Conference games on Sunday 57-46. The Raptors were led by the sophomore combination of Latiqua Williams (17 points) and Blaire Moldenhauer (16 points). Yeshiva’s leading scorer was Varnar with 13 points. Bob Briggs topped Bagel Tyme with a 161-454 series. In other action, Jerry Gregory fired a 223-576 trio pacing Integrated Technology to a 2-2 split with D & L Deli. Bob LaCasse rolled a 161-478 for D & L. Mike Seider’s 198-566 was rolled in vain as Hats off to You lost a 3-1 decision to Todd Farrell’s Car Care. Dave Goetchius paced Farrell’s with a season high 225-550 series. Mike Marquez rolled a 198-564 triple as First Niagara pounded the Don Baker Farm 4-0. Dale Baker led the Farmers with a 193-508 In other action, Mike Seider’s league-best 277-702 triple paced a host of top scores and led his team to a 3-1 decision over the Don Baker Farm. Joe Cefaliello rolled a 214-602 for the Farmers. In other games, Mike Marquez maintained a hot hand by firing a 244-683 triple pacing First Niagara over D & L Deli 4-0. Bob LaCasse tossed a 210-587 in defeat. Chris Ellithorpe also rode a hot hand by firing a 245-678 triple leading Fairview Books to a 3-1 victory over Integrated Technology. Mike Leedy rolled a season-high 237-598 for Integrated. Roger Dooley’s 495 triple and Dave Goetchius’ 492 triple were tops for their respective teams, Bagel Tyme and Todd Farrell’s Car Care, as they slugged out a 2-2 tie.
