Bard administrator cited for growing pot
GALLATIN — The head of the economics department at Bard College was arrested Friday for growing marijuana at her Gallatin home.
Kristine A. Feder, 54, was arrested at the college by state police following a welfare check at her home on Benton Road.
Police said a caller had reported that she had not seen her neighbor for a few days and that one of her pets was roaming freely. A check of the residence revealed a marijuana growing operation.
State police seized 16 marijuana plants ranging in size from 18 inches to 7 feet tall.
Feder was charged with third degree criminal possession of marijuana and unlawfully growing cannabis. She was issued an appearance ticket to appear in the Town of Gallatin Court at 4 p.m. Wednesday.
