DSS updates public on its child and family programs

Hudson-Catskill Newspapers COLUMBIA COUNTY — The County Child Protective Services has seen a dramatic increase in the number of calls to the State Central Registry this year. Social Services Commissioner Paul Mossman said more than 600 calls were made in the first six months, and projected the total reports received in 2008 would be around 1,200, compared to a yearly average of 850 to 900.
