Corrections officers sue the city for false arrest, imprisonment By John MasonHudson-Catskill Newspapers HUDSON — Claims of false arrest, false imprisonment and civil rights violations have been filed against the city of Hudson and the Hudson Police Department by the two corrections officers who were accused of second-degree assault that allegedly occurred June 19, but were never indicted. Attorney Jeff Brody said Nicholas Wendelken, an officer at Hudson Correctional Facility, and Nicholas Myrdycz Jr., an officer at Coxsackie Correctional Facility, are filing claims of false arrest, false imprisonment and violations of their civil rights, stemming from their arrest and detention Aug. 30, 2007. “They’re exercising a right they have to sue,” said HPD Chief Ellis Richardson, “but the police did everything right in this case. We had probable cause to believe a crime had been committed.
